Devereaux Ferris picked up rugby at the age of 3, playing casually through his younger years in New Zealand.

Ferris continued his rugby playing career after moving to the states, winning a 2016 DII National Championship with Life West and being named the California Cup MVP in 2017.

In 2018 he was added to the Men's Eagles traveling roster for the Americas Rugby Championship but still hunted for his first cap. He was later chosen to compete with the Men's Selects for the Americas Pacific Challenge 2018 at the developmental level and earned a place as a reserve for the Men's Eagles Autumn clash with Samoa.
