MLR Picks Week 18: Teams Fight With Few Weeks Left

Two weekends left and it's all to play for.

Only two weeks remain in MLR’s regular season. The only thing tighter than the time frame is the playoff race itself. Many teams will be facing do or die situations as there are currently six teams that mathematically can still qualify for the playoffs. The penultimate weekend sees the Houston SaberCats and the Austin Elite get things underway. The SaberCats are coming off a massive upset of the NOLA Gold and will look to keep on rolling, despite being eliminated from contention. Sunday will be a day where dreams are a step closer to becoming reality, or they will come to a screeching halt. It kicks off with Rugby United New York taking on the NOLA Gold. NOLA looked assured to finish atop the standings only a few weeks ago but a sudden drop in form has them searching for answers. RUNY on the other hand, is sitting in fourth and needs to create all the separation it can from 5th place Toronto only a point behind them. The Toronto Arrows will then take on the Glendale Raptors. It is a must win for the Raptors and, if RUNY wins, it could be a must win for the Arrows as well. The round closes with the Seattle Seawolves taking on the Utah Warriors. Seattle will need the win, as they are only three points clear of Toronto in fifth. A loss here and a win to RUNY and Toronto could prove to be detrimental to the Seawolves hopes of defending their championship.
